Happy National S'mores Day!
We L-O-V-E S'mores in this house. Unfortunately, with all the rain today, we will not be making them over the fire pit tonight. Instead I mixed up some S'Mores Krispies.

We L-O-V-E S'mores in this house. Unfortunately, with all the rain today, we will not be making them over the fire pit tonight. Instead I mixed up some S'Mores Krispies.
Recipe adapted from Chef In Training.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter
1 10oz bag regular marshmallows
1 12oz box Golden Graham Treats
1 12oz bag Milk Chocolate Chips
1. Prepare a 9"x13" baking dish by lightly spraying it with cooking spray.
2. In a large pot, melt butter over medium-low heat.
3. Add marshmallows to the butter and stir until marshmallow are completely melted.
4. Remove pot heat.
5. Add Golden Grahams into marshmallow mixture. (I crushed some up with my hands as I added them to the pot so they would be in smaller pieces.)
6. Stir until cereal in completely coated.
7. Add chocolate chips to the cereal mixture and stir until combined.
8. Spread the Golden Graham mixture in the prepared baking dish. You can either spread
the mixture by using a spoon, or my favorite way, spray your hands with a
little cooking spray and press it down.
9. Once cool, cut and enjoy.
I have seen and made prettier versions of these little guys. Generally instead of allowing the chocolate chips to melt (like I did), they are sprinkled on a left whole. Like on the Chef In Training blog. I must say having made these both ways, the melted chocolate chips are yummier to eat for some reason.
